of this AUP are as follows:
1. ZPDee has the right to change the provisions in this AUP without prior
notice.
2. Customers agree to the provisions of this AUP each time they use ZPDee.
3. ZPDee supports the freedom to express ideas and share information over
the Internet. ZPDee does not monitor or edit contents of web pages, electronic
messages, mailing lists, newsgroups or any other material accessible through
ZPDee's service. However, ZPDee may, at its sole discretion, deny access
to, or perform any other necessary action on materials that are illegal,
may expose ZPDee to liability, or violate any of the provisions in this
AUP. Examples of illegal activities are:
- Unauthorized use of copyrighted material including, but not limited
to, digitization and distribution of photographs, written materials,
music, videos, etc. from copyrighted sources.
- Unauthorized use and distribution of copyrighted software.
- Exporting software or technical information in violation of export
control laws.
- Posting or e-mailing of scams such as 'make-money-fast' schemes
or 'pyramid/chain' letters.
- Threatening bodily harm or property damage to individuals or groups.
- Making fraudulent offers of products, items, or services originating
from your account.
4. In enforcing this policy on customers, customers indemnify ZPDee from
any liability that customers may incur as a result of the imposed sanctions.
5. Customers are responsible for ensuring that their network is secure.
Customers' action or inaction must not allow others to gain access to
ZPDee and subsequently violate any of the provision in this AUP.
6. ZPDee shall cooperate fully with any officially recognized law enforcement
body to the best of its capability when required to do so by force of
law regardless of customers having or not having violated this AUP.
7. The following are violations to this AUP:
- Unsuccessful or successful attempts at impersonation or forgery.
- Adding, removing, or modifying identifying network header information
("spoofing") in an effort to deceive or mislead is prohibited. Attempting
to impersonate any person by using forged headers or other identifying
information is prohibited.

in order to avoid spam email address collectors is allowed provided
appropriate contact information is available in the body of any communication
transmitted through ZPDee.
- Unsuccessful or successful attempts to gain access to any system
or information.
- Unsuccessful or successful attempts to send or install a virus,
Trojan, worm or other code that may violate other Internet users'
privacy, destroy files, or install unsolicited programs regardless
if the program is harmful or not.
- Threatening or harassing any person or organization using ZPDee.
- Using ZPDee service to perform illegal activities.
- Reselling the ZPDee service without explicit written consent.

email and number of emails regardless if the email is commercial or
not.
Sending more than 10 essentially similar emails to the same email
address ("mail bombing").
Maintaining a mailbox that exceeds the allocated mailspace.
Maintaining an inactive mailbox. ZPDee reserves the right to delete
contents of a mailbox and assign that email address for another purpose
if the mailbox has not been accessed for more than 30 days.

the owner of that email address.
Activities that facilitate the above items.
- Improper use of Web / FTP Service:
Using a URL in the zpdee.net domain to collect responses for unsolicited
commercial email.
Exceeding the allotted web space.
Exceeding the allotted number of hits.
- Improper use of News Service. Most newsgroups would have their
own AUP, published guidelines or community standards. ZPDee, at its
sole discretion, may choose to take actions on top of sanctions the
newsgroup administrator will impose. Common inappropriate activities
would include: Posting off-topic messages.
Commercial advertisements except if expressly stipulated that this
is allowed in a newsgroup.
Excessive Multiple Posting or EMP, a form of spamming, or posting
essentially similar articles to numerous newsgroups. ZPDee considers
posting of an essentially similar article to 10 or more newsgroups
within a 2 week sliding window as EMP.
Posting essentially similar messages more than 10 times to a single
newsgroup ("news bombing").
Invectives targeted to specific individuals or groups ("flaming").

or Cable Modem service, is a shared- access medium. If customer that
uses excessive bandwidth affects the service quality of other customers
in the same general area, ZPDee may deny the customer service in order
to maintain service quality. The service may be reactivated provided
appropriate arrangements are made between the customer and ZPDee.

| What is Cable Internet and how
does it work?
Cable Internet provides access via cable modems. It's the latest in
high speed, broadband Internet access. Cable Internet employs state
of the art cable modem technology to provide high speed data transmission
over the existing cable TV infrastructure. In other words, instead of
connecting to the Internet via telephone lines, Cable Internet allows
you to connect your computer to the Internet via the same coaxial cable
that you plug into your television. And because cable has more bandwidth
than telephone lines, data is able to transfer faster. Imagine a highway
with just 2 lanes with fewer cars allowed to pass at a given time. That's
your regular dial-up service or narrowband where it takes longer to
transmit data from the internet to your computer. Cable internet or
broadband is like a highway with numerous lanes, more cars passing at
a given time thus faster transmission of data from the internet to your
desktop. |
| Can I still access my email with
another ISP?
Yes, you can access your e-mail with another ISP for as long as you
know your user name and password. However, you must change your mail
server settings to your Cable Internet configuration. |
| What is a cable modem?
The word modem is actually short for modulator and demodulator for information
that flows between your computer and ZPDee's network. Think of it as
a translator so that our Cable TV system can communicate effectively
with your computer...a hardware that transmits data using cable's hybrid-fiber
coaxial network. |
| Will cable modem affect my television
reception?
Cable Modems use the same wires as your cable television, however cable
modems operate at a separate frequency from that of your cable television
channels. By operating at a separate frequency, the cable modem does
not interfere with your television reception. You can watch TV while
surfing at the same time. |
| Is cable modem like a hub?
The cable modem is not a hub. It is more like a translator that converts
Ethernet (the transport mechanism of computers) into broadband radio
frequency (the transport mechanism of television). It also acts as a
filter so you won't overload the Ethernet side of the network with the
traffic coming out of your computer. |
| How does a cable modem connect
to a computer?
A cable modem connects to a computer through a device called an Ethernet
card. This card provides connectivity between the cable and the computer
and interprets the signals from the cable modem so that your computer's
software can display it correctly. |
| What is an Ethernet Card?
An Ethernet card is a high speed data communications port for a computer.
It provides the necessary speed of data exchange between a cable modem
and a computer. It is an internal computer card that sits in one of
the available slots in a computer. Most home computers do not have Ethernet
cards as standard equipment. This is a major requirement for Cable Modem
installation. |
| Can I hook up to more than one
computer?
Yes, but each additional computer is an additional charge and you will
need a hub. |
| Can I use another computer with
a different IP Address?
Yes, you can but you will have to request for the additional IP address
for a certain fee. For other inquiries please e-mail is at supportcenter@zpdee.net. |
Can I watch TV and use High
Speed Internet service at the same time?
Yes. While the signals travel over the same fiber/coaxial cable, neighbor
cable television connections and ZPDee Cable Internet connections are
not affected by simultaneous use. |
| Do I have to disconnect/remove
my telephone modem?
No, as long as you have a free IRQ (Internet Request Line) and expansion
slot for your Ethernet card, there is no need to remove your telephone
modem. |
What are the advantages of ZPDee
Cable Internet as compared to any dial-up service?
ZPDee
- No busy signals
- No disconnections
- On-line all the time
- Frees up your phone lines
|
Dial-Up
- Time consuming dial-up calls, busy signals
- Downloading cut-offs, disconnections while online
- Long dial-up waiting time
- Unless you have more than 1 telephone line, you can't surf
and talk on the phone at the same time
|
|

a traditional dial-up ISP?
Quality - SKYVision has invested heavily in the latest in technology

| If I have TV reception problems,
will this affect my cable internet service?
That depends if the problem with the video signal is at the source,
or somewhere in the transmission path other than the cable system. If
the problem is not related to the cable system then no, it shouldn't
affect your cable internet signal. If, however, the problem is caused
by a down line, a cut cable, or something local to the cable TV physical
network, then it may affect your cable internet service. If your modem
ever goes "offline" or you are unable to access the network, please
call 631-0000.
For example: A good quality cable splitter adds approximately 4db of
loss to the cable signal. Such a change in the signal strength may move
your cable signal out of the necessary range and cause your cable modem
to become unreliable.
To ensure reliability of the signal, we have well trained staff to
perform duties such as installing cable television, without affecting
your ZPDee service so please do call us. |
| Can I use a splitter on my Television
Cable?
Should you require another Cable TV connection, please call 631-0000
and we'll be more than happy to assist you. We do not recommend that
you install the new splitter yourself as this action may introduce noise
or interference into the cable system thus affecting you internet connection. |
| What are the differences between
ZPDee Cable Internet service and DSL?
ZPDee Cable Internet service delivers content directly to your personal
computer via a cable connection, cable modem and customized software.
High-Speed Internet provides the tools a customer needs to participate
fully in the online community at speeds that leaves traditional dial-up
modems in the dust. The result: a fast, High-Speed Cable Internet connection.
DSL, or Digital Subscriber Line, is a modem technology that transforms
ordinary phone lines (also known as "twisted copper pairs") into high-speed
digital lines for fast Internet access. The quality of the service is
also dependent on the quality of the phone line. You must have a DSL
modem and live within a certain distance of your telephone company's
central office to get DSL Internet service. |
| Is it true that Cable Internet
Services use a Shared Network Platform while DSL Services Provide a
Dedicated line?
Unless otherwise specified in the DSL package, DSL services dedicate
a line from your home to the provider's central office, but that is
where the dedicated connection ends and the bandwidth sharing begins.
Internet traffic from your neighborhood meets at the provider's central
office. Customers then battle for a connection to a Local ISP that is
shared by residential users and possibly businesses. |
| How fast is it?
ZPDee Cable Internet offers download speeds of that leave your regular
dial-up service in the dust. Don't take our word for it, experience
it yourself. |
| Why is some content slow to download
from some websites?
One of the most common reasons is when numerous people access the same
site at the same time. A good example is when the news of terrorist
attacks during 9/11 spread all over the world, downloading CNN at that
time was very slow as followers logged on to the website for news and
update terrorists attack. |
| As users increase, how will my
connection be affected?
ZPDee Cable Internet is committed to providing quality service to our
customers. With this, increase in users will not affect connection. |
| Will I be able to maintain speed
during peak hours?
ZPDee Cable Internet is more than just a cable modem connection to the
often-bottlenecked Internet. Through the use of ZPDee's DOCSIS network
technology, we can maintain high-speed connections that are consistently
as well as considerably faster than dial-up or other broadband internet
service offerings at affordable prices. |
| What is the Disclaimer?
The speed mentioned refers to the "access speed" that we are capable
of delivering over the cable line which is from the cable modem to the
cable headend. This does not include its performance over the international
gateway. |
| How much will ZPDee Cable Internet
cost me?
ZPDee Cable Internet introduces the Z-Plans. Choose from the four basic
packages, all custom made to cater to different surfing needs and affordability.
Bundle with Sky Cable to enjoy bigger discounts. |

Why am I not getting the speed I
subscribed to?
The speed you subscribed to (128 kbps, 512 kbps, etc) is the maximum or
burst speed you can experience on your connection. While your connection
can max this out most often, there will be times when factors beyond our
control like noise, software problems or other interferences can slow
down your connection. Additionally, some of the websites you are logging
on to may have too many visitors and can add to the deterioration of your
speed performance. |
How do I know my connection speed?
While there are several websites that offer speed meters, the best way
to find out your connection speed is by downloading a file. The speed
of the download is displayed on the screen. The download speed though
is in kilobytes/minute & NOT kilobits/ minute as in the all the ZPDee
plans. Convert kilobytes to kilobits by multiplying it by 8.
